Gayatri mantra is one of the most known and beneficial of the ancient Sanskrit mantras. Gayatri mantra is a mantra of physical, emotional, and mental healing, of spiritual awakening or self- realization, purifying the subtle karmas and protection from the onslaught of obstacles. A mantra which is for the development of intellect, a mantra which is to make the intellect strong, a mantra that acts as efficacious for your intellectual development and spiritual development is the mantra, Gayatri Mantra. This mantra is come from Rig Veda and also called the Savitri mantra. Today, I will introduce you to this mantra which you have heard or might ever learn or read or chanted. But all the same, mantra is such an important part of the heritage of this land and repeated settings on the Gayatri is indeed a useful exercise. You see the human mind usually first gets interested in the aspect of it that is the nature of the human mind. As you go along then you begin to discover and the undercurrents which you miss at the first sight and as you go deeper you find inner meanings which you miss probably at the first sight or the first hearing. So let me recall you The Gayatri mantra,
Gayatri is the feminine form of gayatra, a Sanskrit word for a song or a hymn, having a Vedic meter of three padas, or lines, of eight syllables. In particular, it refers to the goddess Gayatri as that mantra personified. According to the belief, Gayatri Mata is the center of Shakti which contains all kinds of powers. Gayatri Mata is also called Ved Mata. All the miseries of man are removed from this mantra chants and salvation is attained. In Atharva Veda, Gayatri mother has been known for providing age, education, children, fame, wealth and Brahma pride. According to the Puranas, Goddess Gayatri has been mentioned as Brahma's wife and her vehicle is a swan. Gayatri Maa resides in all the regions with five faces and ten hands and always holding Vedas and Kamandalas. She also carries weapons which is mace, wheel, queue, and lotus.
The mantra is start with “OM” which means pervading the whole world with the consciousness, the truth, an existence which is all pervasive and all omniscient. Then, “bhu” comes which means earth where we live, from which we made i.e. source of our life. “bhuvah” which means sorrow free surrounding all around us and then, “swah” which means all universe which contains all galaxies and everything out there. “tat” means existence or abstract.
Meaning goes deeper now that is “in this surroundings, earth and the whole universe, there is only one existence.
“saviturvarenyam” which means that ultimate power that is worthy to hold and accept and worth remembering. “bhargo devasya” means this element is a form of God and pervaded in the whole world. “dheemahi” – dhee means intellect.
Means “Give our intellect so much power that we can be able to spread this divinity and walk on the path of truth in this world”.
“dhiyo yo nah” means we pray this. “prachodyaat” means stimulate our intellect to the peak.
Summary:- “let us meditate upon the glory of god who has created the universe, who is fit to be worshipped, who is the remover of all sins and ignorance. May she enlighten our intellect.”
Here is the meaning if you chant words it produces different waves which are good for our body, intellect, and memory. Students should practice it daily.

It does not belong to a particular religion, any country, it belongs to the whole universe. Self-transformation leads to world transformation, we can achieve this goal with a unique tool, the Gayatri mantra. We meditate on the glory of the creator who has created the universe; who is worthy of worship; who is the embodiment of knowledge and light; who is the remover of all sin and ignorance. In the last sentence of mantra, we say “may she enlighten our intellect”, when we say “OUR INTELLECT” we are actually representing whole humanity in chanting this prayer. It is for righteous knowledge and wisdom in all religions. Our ears might hear what is immoral and profane, but our hearts should not perceive anything unholy or wrong.
